Inner Fenders

Multiple section, removable inner fender panels were crafted by Rick “Speed” Lefever for Project Camaro.

The reshaped front fenders, chassis and frame modifications necessitated new inner fender panels. The aluminum inner fender panels feature rolled steps for strength and to eliminate vibration. The steps also look cool. Note the huge 13-1/2-inch vented Baer® brakes with four-piston calipers.

The new inner fenders are dimpled to clear the turbochargers and associated ducting.

The inner fender panels conform to the roll cage front down bars. Note the dimples to clear ducting, and the Dzus® buttons for easy removal. Removing the inners fender panels provides access to the air cleaner housings and headlight door
mechanisms.

Aluminum Inner Fenders Highlight the Engine Compartment

To give a professional finished look to the confines of the engine compartment, Rick “Speed” Lefever fashioned aluminum inner fenders. These multi-panel inner fenders provide extra room around the engine and turbochargers while effectively sealing the front fenderwells to prevent water or dirt from entering the engine compartment and the hide-away headlight mechanisms. The inner fender panels include stiffening beads to prevent vibration and special dimples to clear turbocharger ducting. Each inner fender is comprised of three pieces to permit removal for engine or turbocharger service. The panels are secured by Dzus® fasteners and quick-release pins for quick disassembly.

A side benefit to these aluminum inner fender panels is light weight and they look good too.
