Utah Valley University visits Gale Banks Engineering

Giving back to the community has always been important to Gale Banks; so when Utah Valley University Associate Professor of Automotive technology Todd Low approached him at the 2011 SEMA show, Gale was all ears. Todd shared with Gale that he was taking a small group from his high performance engine rebuilding class on an adventure to the NHRA Winter Nationals in Pomona, CA. Along the way they were hoping they could stop by Gale Banks Engineering. Todd didn’t have to say much more, as Gale didn’t hesitate to invite the students to tour the Banks Facility.

The day started at the Wally Parks NHRA Museum in Pomona, CA. There, the students got a special treat – their tour guide for the “Banks Power – The First 50 Years” exhibit was none other than Gale Banks himself. Then, it was back to the Banks Power shop for a lunch break filled with industry stories of milestones and achievements. The group then finished the day with a walk through of the engineering department and a demonstration in the engine dyno room.
