We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our Engineering R&D and Test Group. Will install instrumentation, high level data acquisition equipment, engines, and aftermarket or OE performance products on engine and chassis dynos ensuring that all equipment and parts are interfaced correctly. Will execute tests, analyze test data, and verify completed test results are to specification. Will document test results and make recommendations for modifying test environments and/or equipment to improve the collection or validation of test data. Maintain and calibrate all test equipment and test engines in operational condition at all times; research, source and purchase new or replacement test equipment.
Requires 5+ years experience in the automotive testing field installing instrumentation, data acquisition equipment, engines and aftermarket or OE performance products on engine and chassis dynamometers. Solid general vehicle knowledge, functional knowledge of Data Acquisition (DAQ) hardware, and experience with DAQ sensors including thermocouples, thermistors, and pressure transducers. A 2-year Electronics degree and 3 years of automotive experience preferred. Must be proficient conducting tests; acquiring, reporting and analyzing test data; and have ability to recognize data or testing problems and resolve test issues. Experience with calibration of engines and test equipment preferred.
