PowerPack® SystemTruck-work

PICKUP: PowerPack supplies the ultimate in power, utilizing Banks' exclusive Techni-Cooler intercooler assembly that cools and condenses engine-air to fortify performance and durability through the drivetrain and to the road surface. PowerPack uncorks best gains of +120 hp, +256 lb-ft torque and 10% more mileage. In terms of raw power, strong acceleration and lugging heavy cargo up a grade, PowerPack-equipped Power Strokes perform circles around the rest. DynaFact® Gauges

Banks’ exclusive DynaFact electronic gauges offer precision that can’t be matched by mechanical gauges. The pyrometer provides exhaust-gas temperature (EGT) measurements that are accurate within ±15° F at maximum operating temperatures. The pyro's spring-loaded, jeweled movement is resistant to vibration and sports a lit, easy-to-read 0-1500° F face. Banks' 0-50 psi boost gauge monitors power and turbo performance. Includes 2-gauge mounting panel. Top-mount and/or pillar-mount options available.

'94-97 7.3L PowerPack & Torque Converter: It Really Will Pull Out Stumps and Still Get 14 MPG

2007-03-12

Kim of Spring Hills, Kansas, installed a PowerPack and Banks Billet Torque Converter on a ’94-97 Power Stroke 7.3L turbo-diesel

With 150,000 miles on bigdawg, I was waffling between a new 1 ton crewcab dually or a Banks kit. I opted for the PowerPack system and Banks Billet torque converter. Having wrenched on everything from 12,000 HP 12 cylinder in-line Fairbanks-Morse marine diesels to run of the mill Cats and Detroits, it was a seamless install that took me two weekends. (Really.) It went in with only one very small snag (my error). On the initial shakedown run my son at one point yelled "Dad we're sideways"! I yelled back "Ain't it great"?

Our first long trip out with it was a week later. Weighing 17,000 lb, we hauled our 30-ft fifth wheel and an extra 110 gallons of fuel from Kansas to Arizona. We breezed up the grades outside of Albuquerque and between Flagstaff and Phoenix. Not wanting to push things the first time out, we averaged 14 MPG the entire trip. Now, bigdawg has 200,000 on the odometer and it hasn't been babied. It's seen the Grapevine at 110 degrees F, in CA, 9,000 ft passes in Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks and over the great divide several times. I haven't had one problem with the Banks system, or the engine yet. (Scouts Honor) Oh yeah, with the Banks Billet Torque converter, it really will pull out stumps and still gets 14 mpg. Thanks Banks for my "new truck"!

'95 7.3L PowerPack: The Best Fitment, Instructions, and Component Quality

2006-10-02

Phil of Prineville, Oregon, installed a PowerPack system on a ’95 Ford F-250 7.5L 460 CID 4X4

I purchased the Banks #48847 kit for a 460 CID in a 1995 Ford F250 Extended Cab 4X4 from you on 9/15/06. I wanted to write you and relay the results. As a foundation to this writing I wanted you to know that I build performance oriented engines for the Street Rod and Cobra Kit car enthusiasts. I dyno. most of these engines in order to confirm to my customers the performance of these engines. The other reason I dyno. is to provide evidence to the suppliers of components that I buy the actual gains or the lack there of regarding the parts they have supplied. I am not easily convinced of performance claims by manufacturers and I will hold any manufacturer liable if the claims they make do not prove true upon testing. No exceptions.

That said I am pleased to report that your testing data is accurate and I consider your business practices as ethical and honest. It is truly a pleasure to see this type of credible results as related to actual versus advertised. Here are the results.

Vehicle: 1995 Ford F250 Extend Cab. 4X4, 460 CID, Auto Trans, 373 final drive, stock tire diameter. Note: Engine in sound condition. Base line performance. 0-70 MPH 15.7 Seconds averaged over three runs. After Installation performance. 0-70 MPH 14.4 Seconds averaged over three runs. Base line fuel mileage: 12.5 MPG After Installation fuel Mileage: 14.4 MPG. Both tests were done within an ambient temperature range 5 degrees. 72 base line and 77 after installation. Both tests done on exactly the same driving locations.

I was so shocked by the mileage increase I retested twice over a 100 mile loop. These results are real, period.

One last thing the fitment, instructions, and component quality are the best I have experienced in the industry.

Trust me if these results had not proved true you be getting a box of parts back and I would be after my money. Thank you for a top quality product and results that you can believe.

'94-97 7.3L Power Stroke: PowerPack

2009-06-03

Delivers what it promises

Unbelievable.  A company that actually delivers what it promises. I have only had my Banks Power System, with the exhaust brake for a couple of days so all I can say is "Wow".  The power seems doubled and the 7.3 powerstroke was a capable engine to begin with, I thought.  I have the Banks Power emblems on my truck visible at any angle, so I should get lots of questions.  If not I'll seek someone gringing up a hill in low gear to tell.  Really great, Thank you.

7.3L PowerPack & Banks Brake

2009-06-19

Good Morning,

My name is Steve and I have a 1997 Ford F350 Crew Cab, 7.3 Liter Turbo Diesel, 4 Wheel Drive, 4.10 gear ratio, for which I purchased a Banks PowerPack, Monster Exhaust, SmartLock Transmission Module, TransCommand Module, and a Banks Exhaust Brake in October 2007.

The entire system was installed in January 2008.  I just recently had the opportunity to pull my 36 Foot Coachman Fifth Wheel Trailer any extended distance.

With my truck weighing in at about 7,200 pounds, the trailer net weight of 13, 095 pounds (dry), I was grossing in at about 21,000 pounds.  I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and needless to say we have lots of mountains between Fairbanks and Anchorage.

This is only the second long trip (over 800 miles) that I pulled the trailer on.  The first was without the Banks Upgrades.  That was a nightmare going up hills at 18 mph.  The slowest that the heaviest grade pulled my speed down to was 38 mph.  Much better than 18mph up Thompson Pass coming out of Valdez before the Banks Install!  The Intercooler must have had a profound effect on engine temperatures as the engine temperature never even reached the "O" in normal.

The Banks Upgrades worked perfectly, on the trip down late at night, I never even touched the brakes as the Banks Brake was able to keep the  truck and trailer easily under control.  The torque and horsepower available from the upgrades was awesome.

P.S.  The Banks Installation instructions were awesome.  Especially liked the drawings for the cut outs for the intercooler showing the spot welds!

Thanks,

Steve P., North Pole, Alaska
