Engine Output

Engine development for the Duramax 6.6L V-8 diesel continues to open new venues for tuning through Banks' development of the Bosch EDC16 electronic control unit.

In full race trim the Banks Duramax 6.6L race engine now generates more horsepower and torque than the Banks dynamometer can measure (at least for the time being, there's a new dyno out in the hall outside Dyno Room 1 that's ready to be hooked up very soon!).  Estimates, based now on computer extrapolation put the horsepower and torque output of this engine at about 1300 for both measurements.
