Engine Placement
The Banks Sidewinder Top Dragster measures nearly 300 inches in length and is built using the same materials and construction techniques as those of a Top Alcohol Dragster. The rear-mounted Banks Duramax engine is attached to the chassis between a set of custom-designed alloy engine plates.
This placement of the engine is common to Top class dragsters and provides the maximum weight transfer to the rear wheels for maximum acceleration.
- The Banks Duramax engine is mounted behind driver in chassis
- Banks-designed front/rear alloy plates locate engine on the frame rails
