Fluid Storage
Several tanks for fluids will be on board in the Banks Sidewinder Top Dragster, including a fuel tank which will hold a little under three only gallons of diesel. Because of space limitations a special dry sump tank for the oil system needed to be designed and built in-house. The tank snugs up to and takes on the slope of the back side of the driver's seat. Compact, yet with full capacity to keep the Duramax engine in fresh, de-aerated motor oil, this custom dry sump tank was not built as an engineering "exercise" or to look cool, like all the other components on board in this machine, no one gets a free ride, everyone works.
