Valvetrain Development

The Intake and exhaust valves are custom components designed and manufactured to very high tolerance Banks drag race engine requirements. Valve springs on all builds are matched within 1% of open pressure across the entire operating range of the engine. 

Interestingly enough, the stock Duramax rocker arms have been found strong enough to be used in Banks Sidewinder race engines with no modifications or special treatment (other than cleaning and close inspection).

Banks also specifies custom-ground camshafts for the competition engines.
