Summary: Implements supplier quality assurance and quality system activities throughout the organization, and works closely with suppliers to promote their quality systems.
Skills and Abilities: Coordinates the supplier quotes and order process between Engineering and Purchasing. Coordinates the order and receiving process between Engineering and Manufacturing. Establish partnerships with suppliers; promote supplier development in coordination with GBE requirements and strategy. Develops and implements: PPAP, control plans and processes to promote product quality. Conducts detailed supplier quality audits and manages supplier quality certification and approvals, following appropriate trends and metrics. An experienced leader on structured problem-solving teams to proactively promote and contribute to continuous supplier improvement and a lower total cost solution.
Education/Experience: BS degree in an engineering or technical field with 10+ years experience in a quality engineering and dealing with supplier quality issues. Experience working in quality systems, ISO9000 and TS16949. Must have experience with auditing and compliance of such a systems. Certification in a quality system or method, such as Six-Sigma, is preferred. Experience with ASME Y14 standards.
